Snow Event Updates
No current snow event in progress….
PAST EVENTS:
Update 4:39pm: The second pass will begin shortly.
Update 1:33pm: We are heading down the final stretch of pass #1. We will be making another pass to clean up the city plow mess.
Update 11:25am: Our crews are still out hard at work. We are receiving very rude comments from some of our customers. Wet heavy snow like this takes double the time to clear. There is no equipment that makes it go faster. Furthermore, no equipment will do the perfect job with this type of snow. We are out doing all we can. Down trees, some with electrical wires in them, on top of wet heavy snow are real challenges. Please be patient.
Update 9:44am: This is just one of many challenges we are facing this morning. Crews are about halfway through their routes.
Update 8:22am: A couple of our drivers have encountered fallen trees blocking roadways, driveways, etc.
Update 7:36am: Things are progressing, just not as fast as we would hope. We have 1 driver out due to a death in the family and 1 driver that simply didn’t show up (something we battle each snow event). We are about half way done with the first pass. Crews are encountering very deep and wet snow. There is no equipment that handles this type of wet cement quickly. Man power and time and we will get it done.
Update 3:41am: We are encountering about 12″ of very wet snow and terrible road conditions. Please be patient as we work through this event.
Update 1:45am: We have dispatched our trucks and will be servicing all accounts.
Update 11:04pm: We will be servicing all accounts tonight. Trucks were dispatched at 8pm and all accounts will be done by 7am tomorrow morning.
Update 8:24am: The snow we received last night totaled 1.5″, therefore we only plowed the 3/4″ trigger clients. We have taken measurements in many different areas yielding the same amount of 1.5″.
Update 1:45am: We have dispatched our trucks and will be servicing our clients that signed up for 3/4″ trigger only. We currently have 1″. If this changes to servicing all accounts, we will let you know.
Update 10:31am: We are actively working on the second pass. We anticipate that round being complete within 3 hours.
Update 12:27am: We have dispatched our trucks and will be servicing all trigger levels. We will likely make a pass tonight as well as another one tomorrow.
Snow Event 2/21-2/23/2023
Update 7:03pm: We are finally wrapping things up. This storm was a difficult one but we made it. This will be the final update of this snow event. Thank you.
Update 2:25pm: For some of you, your final pass has been completed. For the rest of you, we are still actively out working to complete the final pass asap.
Update 7:52am: Our crews are continuing working through their routes. The blast of snow around 5am has slowed us down. Please be patience as we work through this.
Update 1:25am: We are approx. 3/4 complete with this current round (Rd 3). We will be immediately starting our routes over when rd 3 is complete. Currently, the snowfall rates have intensified which will make it look like we haven’t been there when you get up. At this moment, it appears we will be making 2 more passes (once rd 2 is complete) throughout the next 24 hours, however this could change depending on the weather.
Update 5:26pm: As the snow has begun to fall again, we will be dispatching our crews around 7:00pm.
Update 7:38am: We are wrapping round 2 and will be giving our drivers a break. We anticipate going back out this afternoon when the snow begins to fall again. This is a marathon!
Update 9:41pm: We are currently seeing amounts of generally 2.5″. Our crews are diligently working through their routes. We anticipate Rd 1 being completed around 12am-1am. At that time, we will begin our routes again. Please be patience as the snow depth continues to increase.
Update 6:00pm: We will be dispatching our crews to service all accounts shortly. We anticipate this event to go several rounds across multiple days. Come back here for updates, which will try to provide every 3-4 hours. Thanks!
Update 9:39am: We will be dispatching our crews to service clients that are signed up for 3/4″ service only. We will not be servicing 2″ service clients at this time. Thanks!
Update 3:22am: We will be dispatching our crews to service clients that are signed up for 3/4″ service only. We will not be servicing 2″ service clients at this time. This could change so please come back for updates. Thanks!
Update 7:20am: We dispatched our team at 5:15am this morning. That is the time some areas (Chaska) hit 2″ while others (Edina, Eden Prairie) were at 1.25″.
Update 2:49pm: We anticipate wrapping up all routes within 2-3 hours. This will be the final update of this snow event.
Update 8:31am: Our trucks are actively working on the 4th and final pass to clean everything up.
Update 4:51pm: We are wrapping up the third pass in the next 1-2 hours. As of this moment, we will be sending our guys home to get some sleep. If the snow continues tonight, we will be dispatching again at 7am to make another pass.
Update 11:14am: We are about half way done with the third pass. Some feed back we have received is that we did not do a second pass. We did. It just has been snowing aggressively, especially between 2-4am. We had another plow go down but had it back up within an hour. We are doing absolutely everything possible to keep driveways open and accessible.
Update 7:43am: We are currently working on the third pass. Unfortunately, we did have one driver quit but were able to replace him quickly. Please be patience as this snow event is taxing all our employees and has turned into more of a marathon.
Update 10:36pm: Even though we had some setbacks with a truck breaking down, we were able to get it back up and running quickly. Most routes have been completed one time and the routes that haven’t will be done in about an hour.
Update 5:56pm: We got a little bit later start than anticipated this afternoon (trucks were on driveways at 1:30pm) due to traffic and battling accidents on the roadways. We are currently about half way through the first pass. Snow total so far is around 7.5″.
Update 12:08pm: We will be dispatching all trucks at 12:30pm today. This will be a multiple round snow event meaning you will see us several times.
Update 6:56am: We will be making a final pass starting at 8am. This round should take us about 4-6 hours. This is the final update of this snow event. Thanks!
Update 10:42pm: As the snow continues, so do we. We are currently on our second round of plowing.
Update 7:00pm: Shortly after the last update, another plow went down. Both have been up and running for the last hour so it should delay us too bad. The snow event will included multiple passes on our driveway.
Update 4:03pm: We are working very hard on our lists and coming up on half way through the first round. We did have a truck break down about and 1.5 hour ago but hope to have it back up and running shortly. That said, that will delay us on a couple routes.
Update 12:31pm: We have dispatched our trucks and will be servicing all accounts.
Update 6:20pm: We have dispatched our trucks to complete the 3/4″ trigger level accounts only. We will not be servicing the 2″ trigger level accounts tonight.
Snow accumulation as of this update: 3/4″
Update 5:28pm (12/17/22): Due to the relentless snow showers, we will dispatching our trucks at 6:30pm this evening to clean up the driveways.
Update 11:15am: Crews have been out since 8am. Another 3″ fell last night so they will be re-plowing everything today. The forecasted completion time is 4pm.
Update 9:01pm: As we wrap up the second pass tonight, the snow continues to fall. We will be giving our drivers a break and will start again early tomorrow morning to make another pass.
Update 4:55pm: As round 1 comes to an end, our drivers will start their lists over and make another pass tonight.
Update 1:48pm: Most routes are 75% complete on the first pass. This snow is extremely heavy due to its moisture content. Please be patient as our staff work through the remainder of the first pass. FYI, when a driver finishes his route, he is dispatched to another list to help complete. We do this so that the response time is as quick as possible.
Update 9:26am: We have dispatched all of our trucks and will be servicing all service levels.
Update 4:22am: It started snowing around 1:15am. We hit 1″ about 30 min ago. As for right now, we will be dispatching trucks, asap, to complete 3/4″ service accounts only. As of right now, we will not be servicing those that signed up for 2″ service level. This could change so please check back for updates.
Update 11:55am: We have dispatched all trucks to service everyone that signed up for 3/4″ service. We will not be servicing accounts that signed up for 2″ or more service.
Update 11:44am: We started the final pass at 9:30am this morning to clean things up and clean up any residual city plow snow. That should be complete in the next couple hours. This will be the last update of this snow event. Thanks!
Update 3:28am: We have wrapped up round 2. We will be going out again at 8:30am this morning to clean up any residual city plow snow.
Update 10:20pm: Most routes have been completed with the exception of 2. Those are just about done. Round 2 has begun for the others. This round will go much faster.
Update 8:46pm: Please be patient with us as we shovel out 7″ of snow. Some areas we are seeing 8 plus inches. The first real snow fall of the year usually takes longer as drivers get acclimated to their lists. We stress safety and preserving property. If we haven’t been to your property yet, you will see us soon.
Update 7:04pm: As drivers complete their routes they are sent to other incomplete routes. In a typical 3″ snow fall, the route takes around 6 hours to complete all accounts 1 time. When we reach 6 plus inches, the time jumps up to 8 or 9 hours to complete the first round due to the snow depth. Please continue to check back here for more updates or if you have questions, please email snoweventhelp@edinaseasonalservices.com.
Update 6:15pm: We are still working on completing round 1. The depth of snow and very slippery conditions are slowing us down.
Update 3:28pm: We are seeing about 5-6″ of snow. Our crews are working very hard to get the first round done. Currently some routes are past half way and others are just about half way complete with round 1. We will be making another pass.
Update 9:48am: We will be dispatching all trucks servicing all accounts at 12pm today. We anticipate this event being 2 rounds of plowing meaning, you will see us at least twice.
Update 12:58pm:
We are just about complete with this snow event. Have a great day!
Update 7:16am:
Though we did not receive 2″ in one snow event, we will still be dispatching all trucks to clean up all accounts this morning at 8am.
Update 6:35pm: We are wrapping up the routes in the next 30-45min. This will be the last update of this snow event.
Update 4:13pm: Our trucks were dispatched 30 minutes ago. If you have signed up for 3/4″ service, we will see you soon.
Update 2:10pm: We will be dispatching our trucks in the next hour to complete the 3/4″ route. We will not be running the 2″ route.
Update 1:00pm: We are watching this snow closely. We anticipate plowing the customers that signed up for 3/4″ service only but the final decision has not been made. So far we are seeing about 1/2″ of accumulated snow.
